Your sign to make take your next break in Sant Elm, Mallorca
In my experience some holidays are the culmination of months of planning and others more of a happy accident. Discovering the southern Mallorcan town of Sant Elm fell into the latter category. We were led purely by the amazing accommodation but were so delighted to find absolute holiday gold here, less than an hour from Palma Airport.

WHERE TO STAY
Our trip to Mallorca was driven by two things: finding winter sun and staying in a total gem of an Airbnb that we had found. Our two bedroom apartment, hosted by Just Experience Mallorca, was directly on the sea front with an aspect towards the setting sun each evening.

Perfectly tailored to families, the apartment was not only well stocked with practical items such as high-chairs and beach towels but also with activities such as stand-up paddle boards. The shared roof terrace also boasts a BBQ deck and plunge pool. This place really does tick all the boxes and was in an amazing location at the steps to the beach.
where to eat

One of the biggest surprises about this picturesque town is the amazing food offering on the doorstep. The small beach front is littered with locations that you can pick up some Mallorcan patisserie – which I didn’t realise was a thing until I spent more time there! For dinner, there were two stand out spots.
Cala Conills offered the best family sized paella we have ever eaten. We literally never do this, but we went back twice because it was too good to refuse. The other must visit spot is La Casita Del Mar. Translated as The Sea House, it offers exquisitely cooked catch of the day. I highly recommend pre-booking both of these restaurants so you’re not disappointed.
THINGS TO DO
We loved how easy it was to ‘live’ in this beautiful town. The town is set all along the coast, so it truly does justice to the term “beach within reach”. The sandy beach also has a small play park making it perfect for long days on the sand. Sant Elm is set within several beautiful hiking trails for those looking for a more active holiday and the boat trip to the nearby island, Sa Dragonera, is a great way to spend an afternoon. For those of you looking to branch out and see more of Mallorca, Sant Elm is nestled in the South West corner of the island perfect for exploring Andratx, Cala Fornells and Valldemossa.

If you’re looking to answer the alluring call of the Balearics, put a pin in Sant Elm and fall in love with this charming town just like we did.
